Bridge House

A sunken courtyard was created by excavating the sloping ground to the side of an existing terraced house. This courtyard provides an aspect and daylight to a new living room attached to the existing. The roof of the new addition acts as a roof terrace and an extension of the rear garden providing views to the mountains beyond.

Status: Completed summer 2009.

This project was commended at the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2010 and the OPUS Awards 2010. Details of these awards and others can be found here.
