Charleston Road

This development comprises the construction of 4no. x four storey townhouses and the reconfiguring an existing Victorian house found on the site.
The new townhouses reinterpret the traditional Victorian townhouse, each house has a strong architectural form, characterised by a large curved brick bay with a deeply recessed window and a setback roof terrace. The internal arrangement of the houses has been carefully considered to benefit from natural daylight and external amenity.
The scheme balances complex strategies for flood prevention, fire safety and universal access. The building’s façades are formed using a precast composite panel system which comprises structural inner leaf, insulation, concrete outer leaf and external redbrick cladding, each of which are jointed together on site. The envelope achieves an A2 BER rating overall.
