An existing stable block, located within the walled garden of a Victorian House, a Protected Structure, is adapted for re-use as a studio for a painter. The previous flat roof was removed and a new zinc roof with a steep curved profile was added, sitting on top of a new concrete band beam. A large frameless window provides north light to interior. A freestanding mezzanine with a study is provided sitting over oak lined storage units below. Status: Completed 2009. This project featured in a number of architectural magazines.
