A single storey apartment was entirely remodelled to provide an additional floor above the existing and a clearer plan at ground floor level to accommodate the daytime accommodation. By excavating into a sloping embankment, a new garden terrace was formed and is contained within retaining walls. The primary elevation is composed using alternate glazed and solid oak panels, all of which slide or fold. A continuous balcony at bedroom level provides a verandah and shade to the ground floor, which faces towards the south-western sun. Status: Completed Summer 2008.
