BJ Marine One

Lawrence and Long Architects have recently completed works on the rehabilitation of two warehouses on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, in Dublin. The warehouses date from the early 1880's and are the only remaining buildings of this type along the quays of Dublin. Although not Protected Structures, they are unique buildings of architectural interest.

The first of these buildings – B.J. Marine One – is characterised by very large sliding French oak gates and a new boardwalk with glass flood barrier fitted directly onto the river. The design of the interior was carefully considered to retain its unique character, with fairfaced brick walls, cedar joinery and galvanised steel fittings.

Status: Commended in the 2016 Annual RIAI Architecture Awards.
